You use 1 per ear, single use.

Use: Takes 2 people. The person using the ear candle must lay on their side.The smaller point of the candle is placed in the ear. Can use a paper plate, aluminum, or a towel to catch any ash or wax that might fall from burning candle. Do not let ash or wax fall on person, protect them with paper, aluminum, or towel as in picture. Lite Candle takes around 15 minutes each. Blow candle out. Repeat on other ear with the other candle.

Alternative from using q-tips that can push bacteria in the ear.

Made from Beeswax and cotton with a plastic filter.
